Where is my model number located? If your Presto® appliance uses a Control Master® heat control, the model number is generally found stamped on the left side of the plug guard on the bottom of the appliance. Please note: If you have a cool-touch griddle, it is located on the black frame by the plug guard. If you have a Presto® deep fryer, the model number is generally found on the bottom of the appliance. Please note: If you have a ProFry™ fryer, it is located on the back of the control assembly. If you have a Presto® popcorn popper, the model number is found on the bottom of the popper. If you have a Presto® pressure cooker or canner, the model number is found in one of three places: a tag on the cover, stamped on the bottom of the body, or stamped on the side of the body just below the body handle.

To prepare your produce for dehydration, you should wash all fresh food thoroughly to remove any dirt or chemicals. • PreTreaTing Blanching or covering completely in boiling water for a short period of time brings out the enzymes in fruit and vegetables. These enzymes are the reason for color and flavor changes during ripening. Color changes will continue during the drying process unless the produce is pretreated. • Remember to remove any excess moisture before drying pretreated food by placing the food on paper towels or clean cloths. Trays should be loaded with a thin layer of food as directed.
If needed, a clean cheesecloth can be spread on the trays to prevent food pieces from sticking or falling through. • PaCking anD sToring Fruits cut into a wide range of sizes should be allowed to equalize the remaining moisture among the pieces for a week after drying, before placing in long term storage.
